Today marks the launch of the third edition of Kosovo Sustainable Development, where Balkan Green Foundation, for the third year around, is part of the organizing team. Organized for the first time in 2018, KSDW aims to advance the public debate and agenda on the environment’s importance to the general well-being of Kosovo’s society, its health, productivity, and economic performance.
This year unlike before, KSDW returns in a new format: a virtual KSDW platform where you can get information, read publications, join discussions, participate in panel discussions, and much more.
The launching event held centered on green economic recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic. Representatives from the organizing partners took place, emphasized the importance of sustainable development and pushing forwards efforts, particularly in the wake of COVID-19 for a green economic recovery, an effort which is embodied all throughout KSDW endeavors this year.
Kosovo Sustainable Development Week also held Green Deal Panel Discussion moderated by BGF's Programme Manager, Rinora Gojani. The panel discussion included representatives from Ministry of Economy & Environment, Institute for Development Policy (INDEP), Energy Expert, EU Office in Kosovo, Energy Community Regulatory Body (ECRB), and UNDP. Emphasis was made on the importance of Kosovo developments align the principles and vision of EU Green Deal for a stable and just recovery in the benefit of all citizens.
Since the first edition and onwards, KSDW has been organized in close cooperation between, the Ministry of Environment and Spatial Planning, the Ministry of Economic Development, European Union Office in Kosovo/EU Special Representative, Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH on behalf of the German Government, Institute for Development Policy (INDEP) and the Balkan Green Foundation (BGF).
