From 24 to 26 March 2022, Balkan Green Foundation and Eden Center, held the final capacity building training in the framework of the cross-border project "Green Cross - Towards local green economies with smart investments" in Klina. The training focused on “Principles of sustainable agriculture development and market access in Kosovo".
The final training gathered the local stakeholders of the Municipality of Klina and the Municipality of Has. The main focus of the training was to provide new agro-scientific methods and concepts in the field of sustainable agriculture and explain the methods of better market access for agricultural products. Furthermore, this training showed how sustainable agriculture plays an important role in terms of economic, environmental sustainability, and helps the local municipalities to have higher human and economic capacities in the sustainable agriculture field.
The first and second day of the training focused on interested parties and capacities on the characteristics of agricultural production in Kosovo, food production, farming sustainability, energy efficiency in agriculture etc., accompanied by interactive discussions between the stakeholders of both municipalities related to the discussed topics.
Whereas on the third day two site visits were organized, one visit at “GremBeer” factory that processes agricultural goods into natural, sustainably made products, and one local farm visit that deals with the cultivation of plants and animals. During the site visits, the processes and challenges were discussed as well as the support from the local and central institutions were presented, including the presentation of the potential for further exchange between the cross border region.
"Green Cross - Towards local green economies with smart investments" project is funded by the European Union Delegation in Albania and is implemented by the Balkan Green Foundation (BGF) and the Municipality of Klina in Kosovo; Eden Center and Has Municipality in Albania.
