‘Green Jobs in the Era of Digitalization’ panel discussion moderated by BGF

The 6th edition of Kosovo Sustainable Development Week (KSDW) started on May 24, promoting sustainable development and green economic growth. During the event, a panel discussion focused on the relationship between digitalization and environmental sustainability, specifically 'Green Jobs in the Era of Digitalization'. 

Moderated by Fjolla Qorri, researcher at BGF, the panel consisted of esteemed participants, including:

Mentor Arifaj - Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade; 

Donjeta Sahatçiu - Deputy Mayor of Pristina;

Vlora Tuzi Nushi  - Head of Office at UN Women Kosovo; 

Tsvetelina Kuzmanova - Senior Policy Advisor for Sustainable Finance at E3G;

Enisa Serhati - Portfolio Manager Inclusive Growth and Climate Resilience, UNDP Kosovo.

The discussion explored the impact of green job promotion policies and digitization on the economy and social equality. The panel emphasized the importance of inclusive policies for a transition to a circular economy, benefiting various groups, including women and older individuals. Digitization was highlighted as a tool to streamline tasks and enable professionals to focus on creative work.

Strategic policymaking and financing were emphasized to ensure a timely transition and avoid falling behind other nations. Capacity building and education for digitalization were also highlighted to address worker apprehension and seize new employment opportunities.
