Cross-border meeting between the mayors of the municipality of Has and Klina held

Klina - The connection between Kosovo and Albania is becoming stronger through the cooperation of the Municipality of Klina and the Municipality of Has.

The Mayor of Klina Prof. Dr. Zenun Elezaj and the Mayor of Has Mr. Liman Morina met today in a joint meeting in Klina. This meeting was realized within the project "GREEN CROSS - towards local green economies through smart investments", which is financially supported by the European Union, implemented in Albania by the EDEN Center and the Municipality of Has and in Kosovo by the Municipality of Klina and Balkan Green Foundation.

The two mayors discussed the implementation of the project, the achievements, and the benefits that these two municipalities will have in protecting the environment and stimulating the green economy. Moreover, the officials from the municipality of Has lauded the project and noted the energy savings that are deriving from the project as well as the modernization of the lighting of the city. On the other hand, Klina municipality officials expressed full support for the project and its upcoming activities including the investments in energy savings measures as well as the adaption of local policy papers that would contribute towards improving the sustainability of the municipality.

Furthermore, during the meeting, it was agreed to increase cooperation and exchange experiences in the promotion of tourism, environmental protection, and common values that they share as municipalities.
