BGF participated in the “WeGreen – the Youth Goes Clean” event hosted by Young European Ambassadors. The event was held with the aim to bring the Green Agenda for the Western Balkans closer to the youth of the region.

BGF, represented by Besfort Kosova, manager of the “Green Cross towards local green economies with smart investments” project, took an active role in the discussions on the environment and climate change, with a focus on the challenges of pollution and methods of prevention.

Mr. Kosova showcased the aim of the Green Cross project and highlighted the role it plays in the minimization of pollution in the local municipalities involved in this Cross Border project, namely Klina and Has Municipality. “This project improves the overall environment, of the two municipalities and beyond. It contributes to energy savings, helps cut CO2 pollution, and becomes a forerunner by leading by example for other municipalities and other stakeholders to follow. Through these concrete energy savings through smart investments, the environment benefits, the health of the people, it becomes an example of the success that is lucrative to be replicated, but that also has an economic benefit.”

Going further, Mr. Kosova marks that the project through its implementation will enable overall energy saving in the region and beyond, lowering pollution and amplifying the multiplactory effect in the wider economy, which leads to sustainable development.

Mr. Kosova also made reference to the role of NGOs in furthering such movements and granting the opportunity to the youth to get involved and play an active role towards a better and sustainable future.
