Panel Discussion on Energy Transition and Regional Approach

25 September 2020

Within the framework of Kosovo Sustainable Development Week, Balkan Green Foundation took part in an online panel discussion on "Energy Transition and Regional Approach". The experts underlined challenges and solutions for the transition into green energy under the moderation of Balkan Green Foundation's Project Coordinator, Kaltrina Salihu.

Panelists included Luan Morina (Director of Energy Department, Ministry of Economy and Environment), Chrisitan REDL (Senior Associate European Energy Cooperation, AGORA Energiewende Organization), Martin Schön Chanishvili (Senior Policy Advisor, German Watch Organization) and Kadri Kadriu (Deputy Chief Executive Officer Operator Sistemi, Transmisioni and Tregu - KOSTT sh.a).

Throughout the discussion, panelists came to a mutual agreement that energy transition is a process that requires commitment and involvement, but also the cooperation of all the stakeholders. The process is challenging, but strong efforts must be put for a greener recovery in the short-term but also long-term.

This was the fourth panel discussion organized under KSDW 2020 event, which so far has organized and held panels discussions on green deal, national climate and energy plan, green recovery in general.

The KSDW is organized for the third year this year in partnership between the Ministry of Economy and Environment, the EU office in Kosovo, Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit, Balkan Green Foundation, and INDEP.
