BGF part of the Western Balkans Think Tank Forum in Skopje

Balkan Green Foundation (BGF) participated in the Think Tank Forum ‘Stimulating strategic autonomy - Western Balkans contribution for a shared European Future’ organized by the Institute for Democracy ‘Societies Civilis’ - Skopje (IDSCS).

The Program Manager of BGF, Rinora Gojani, participated as a speaker in the first panel where it was discussed about the New Green Deal. Ms. Gojani talked about the importance of active contribution from the Western Balkans to European strategies and policies and provided solutions for a sustainable and environmentally friendly region. 

Ms. Gojani emphasized the need for a greater political will to achieve goals on carbon emission and climate neutrality and a more robust governance for a just transition in the Western Balkans. 

During the event which lasted for three days, experts, civil society representatives, think tanks, academia, governmental officials etc. discussed different challenging areas of European integration including questions of economic and social convergence, environmental issues and hybrid threats. More general outlooks on the future of Europe, based on the accumulated knowledge and expertise of European Think Tanks, aimed in inspiring and encouraging participants and governments alike to take ambitious steps towards a shared European future.
